I am Rose Fewtrell, a designer-maker based in London. My practice explores the possibilities and limits of colours, textures and form within a given material. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment at Goldsmiths allows me to expand my capabilities on from my foundation degree, gaining extensive knowledge regarding the material world. Through considerable research and experimentation, I continuously strive to push the boundaries of standard materials, exploring them as my communication tool and revealing the unexpected aesthetics that help to alter our perception of those that already exist.

Projects evolve from my fascination with material culture, from the past, present and into the future. They are approached in a hands-on manner, using a wide range of traditional techniques and processes such as moulding and casting to re-engineer those that may have become de-valued, allowing their future uses to be reconsidered.
